"This was the first backpacking experience for two of my friends that had joined me in the Jennie Lakes Wilderness. The day before we had hiked uphill for about 7 miles to reach a camping spot at 9,000 feet (2,700 m).
After walking around we found a clear area under the trees that gave us the best view of the lake. Our original plan was to catch dinner with the fishing pole that we had brought with us; but after a long day of hiking we were starving so we gave up after a few minutes and ate the food we had packed. We called it an early night and crawled into our tent to stay warm.
This picture was taken the next morning in the early hours of dawn. From our camp spot we enjoyed a beautiful view of the sun rising over the mountains behind the lake."
